Linen & Chair Covers

As you know the Wedding Planner is a big fan of floor length linens for banquet rounds and chair covers for those incredibly normal banquet chairs. In previous columns we discussed the pros and cons of bricks and mortar vs. internet providers. Regardless of whom you choose to fashion your brand of elegance for your special day, attention to detail in terms of your reception hall’s décor could determine whether you create a breathtaking aura of royalty or an unsightly clash reminiscent of 70’s fashion. The last thing you want your guests to say after they leave is that you had everything but the SHAG carpet!

What am I talking about? For those of you who enjoy the newest styles and unusual color schemes, it is important to consider the wallpaper, carpeting, lighting, and decorative patterns in your reception hall of choice, before selecting you colored linens, overlays, and chair covers with sashes and bows. New age designs like pink and browns don’t match with patterned carpet, of course. Likewise this could be true for very vivid combinations like red and black. As always, consult your event coordinator, your local linen provider or e-mail the wedding planner at weddingplanner@luzernecountyweddings.com or the weddingplanner@lackawannacountyweddings.com. Message boards provide you with the ability to chat with other brides to see what has worked for them as well.

As a note to you more conventional brides with an eye for time-honored traditions, white and ivory linens and matching chair covers generally go with just about everything, so don’t fret.
